BIO

I am a multi-instrumentalist MAT (Multimedia Arts Technology) graduate from Western Michigan University, with a focus on composing music for film. I play guitar and bass, and piano, and enjoy both contemporary and modern film scores.

My Dad was the first person to encourage me to play music. Growing up, I practiced on his drum kit in the basement, surrounded by instruments and music. Soon, I was playing drums for a small group at my middle school. My mentor at the time helped me focus my desire to learn and taught me how to be part of a band. In high school, I moved to guitar and began recording songs in my room. I quickly became engrossed in music production and sound engineering.

Working on a music production is extremely rewarding because I enjoy helping people experience music. As a live sound engineer, I have worked in various capacities throughout Kalamazoo; in the School of Music and local venues like the Clover Room. I have also worked larger gigs, like at Bronson Park in Kalamazoo. My coursework at WMU also gave me extensive hands-on experience in Western Sound Studios, where I developed strong skills in studio recording, audio production, and mixing.

My interest in media scoring solidified during my last year and a half in the MAT program. For my senior capstone project, I composed original music for five different film genres. The creative challenge of enhancing visual storytelling through music is extremely fulfilling to me, and confirmed my desire to work in film, television, and commercial scoring. I'm always looking to collaborate with filmmakers and creatives to help bring their visions to life through music.
